Welcome to all new and returning Deakinites!

I would like to start the year off by welcoming Robbie Ryan, El Presidente, of the Deakin Hall Society and his team and my fellow RA’s! It is sure to be a fantastic year of fun events.

Exciting news, tomorrow is Quidditch time!!!
To kick off the inter-halls sports competition for this year we are playing quidditch.
This will be taking place on the soccer pitch next to New Deakin. We will be meeting in the court yard at 3:50. Play starts at 4.
If you can't make it that early, come on over to the pitch when you get back from uni.
It will be great fun, and we want everyone to get involved (whether it be playing or cheering from the side).

What a fantastic Oweek we had at Deakin Hall.  Upon arrival all new residents were greeted by the friendly Oweek team and RA's and all received a free Deakin Hall T-shirt (Our Polo shirt is the best looking I am sure you will agree) After a good meal and some housekeeping by the RA's we got to know each other through some cleverly designed "get to know you games" Well done to the RA's and Oweek team for this very fun evening which was complimented by the slurpy machine!!

In the blurry haze that is the aftermath of o-week, first semester has commenced once again. The start of academic year has bought with it all the old problems and questions; what classes do I actually have to attend? Why don’t Arts students have to go to uni? Why is this tiny book $140?

Congratulations on everyone for getting through O-week! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we all enjoyed hosting and participating. Notable highlights include the Scav hunt- pictures to come. Congratulations on Fiddo and Davis’ team for coming first! Managing the 50 bonus points which the O-week team assumed no one would risk getting.

So a fellow resident kissed me and now I don’t know what to do when I see them next. Am I suppose to pretend it didn’t happen, talk to the person about it or does this mean I can’t kiss anyone else? Help – Deakin Anonymous.

How is the construction noise going at Jock Marshall Reserve? Is it annoying a few?

Comment here if you have any complaints about the project which can be passed on to the Project Manager or if you have any other problems with Deakin.
