Congratulations on everyone for getting through O-week! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we all enjoyed hosting and participating. Notable highlights include the Scav hunt- pictures to come. Congratulations on Fiddo and Davis’ team for coming first! Managing the 50 bonus points which the O-week team assumed no one would risk getting. It required standing on the grass at the Melbourne Cricket Ground which normally results in a $6000 fine- except for MCC members! Well done to Robbie’s team who came second and Rexi’s team third and congratulations to the rest for participating- Chloe, Jess, Ellen and Dempsey’s team. I’m hoping I haven’t forgotten anyone J

I am told Host Scheme went off with a bang though we did have a few residents not make it inside despite making it to the door several times!

Trivia night was on the Tuesday and was great fun! Mess Hall put on a decent meal for us all and the questions by the Society were good and versatile. Well done to the team of RAs and several token Monash Abroad ressies who took out the number one prize! Movie tickets. Non-RAs include David, Sebastian, Julie, Christian, Carly and Eric.

Congratulations to everyone for managing to tie their togas at Toga party and if not, find someone to help them. It was such a fun night of dancing, laughing and getting to know the few people who everyone may not have had a chance to talk to yet. Thanks to Jason and Brian for throwing in the alcohol, despite have much of the girlie ruski’s drunk by the boys. Toga Night was and still is, the best night of O-week!

It was good to see many Deakinites venturing to Luna Park which was run by MRS. I’m told it was a great trip- albeit short, with many people catching the early buses back to try to get into the Nott. Unfortunately many were unsuccessful due to the large number of residents trying to do the same thing!

As recovery, after a late night at Luna Park or a late night at the Nott we all headed to Mordiallic for Beach Day. It was the perfect day with temperatures in the low 30s. Many jetty jumpers present and we also shared the beach with MONSU Caulfield. Luckily, there weren’t any too bad sun burns.

All in all it was another great O-week put together by the Deakin Society. If you have any comments or criticisms about the week please ensure you fill out the O-week surveys which should be coming to you through your RAs.
